The words “Husband” and “Wife” are to be banned from Britain’s official documents

An article in the March 15 issue of Britain’s “The Daily Mail” reported that all gender-specific words would be removed from Britain’s official documents as part of their same-sex reforms.

Words such as “bride”, “groom”, “husband” and “wife” would all be stricken from official records. The word “spouses” and “partners” will be used instead.

These reforms were promised by the Prime Minister David Cameron, a member of Britain’s conservative party.  These reforms were to apply to civil marriages while a different category – religious marriage – will be reserved for marriages between heterosexual couples.

The cost of the changes is expected to be in the millions.

The Church of England as well as other religious groups has weighed in about the change saying that it is a perversion of the intent of the law.

But Home Office Minister Lynne Featherstone, a member of the Liberal party, warned religious leaders not to ‘fan the flames of homophobia’ with ‘inflammatory’ language. (Featherstone has “Equalities” as part of her portfolio).

The Roman Catholic bishops of England and Wales said in a statement: ‘It is alarming to note that children are not mentioned at any stage in this consultation document about marriage.’

But Miss Featherstone said yesterday: ‘I believe that if a couple love each other and want to commit to a life together, they should have the option of a civil marriage, whatever their gender.

Such love provides no moral basis for rationalizing the rightness of homosexual relationships. Permanent homosexual relationships are no more moral than are impermanent homosexual relationships; for all their emphasis on the ideal of constancy, they nonetheless preserve constancy in a context of moral wrong.

To rewrite biblical ethics in this way perverts the Scripture at many points, and accommodates a new morality that is antithetical to Biblical, Christian beliefs.

The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1–13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26–27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God.

When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.

For a government to condone that activity is an abomination in and of itself and encourages those who would, “parade iniquity with cords of falsehood, [and] who draw sin along as with a cart rope;” (Isaiah 5:18, ISV)

To be consistent they need to get rid of king and queen too.

It is sad to see how “popular” and “right” homosexual marriage/relationships have become. On TV in the US it is being paraded around as being normal. Just the other day a family member of mine said that we are living in more of a Sodom and Gomorrah than we have realized. She stated this after watching a TV show in which the heterosexual was voted off and the homosexuals were allowed to remain in the competition. Many commercials followed which were promoting homosexuality.

AS we ignore our history, we repeat it. We know the consequences will be the same. It is disturbing to see the promotion of the Gay Lesbian etc in our politicians and in the schools. Some schools even promoting courses such as “It’s okay Johnny to want to be Mary”. We serve a just God.

Miss Featherstone’s logic leads the country down a slippery slope. She is arguing, more or less, that being in love with someone is the criterion for marriage, irrespective of gender. The next shift could be siblings being allowed to marry or incestuous relationships being permitted – because the couple are in love.
Equal rights does not give people the right to have free licence but an emphasis on human rights elevates man to the position of God. Man does not have the right to anything. Only God has the right to do with man as He pleases.

  • Hi guys,

Having lived in the UK for the past 21 years, I am not one bit surprised by this information. I remember when I saw this, back in march last year. My wife and I were disgusted, but not surprised in the least. The leaders and rulers of the UK have a serious deisire to promot homosexuality, we even had it shoved down our throats for years on television ( it’s why we got rid of ours.)

But then again, compromise it great britian’s old friend.

So why are they discriminating against three or four (or more) people in “love”. Any wagers on how long it will be before we hear about this?
I would have never imagine how fast Western Civilization is falling. I understand western European and British culture is dying through low birth rate, as the Muslim population increases through high birth rate. How are homosexuals or transgender persons going to fare when a Muslim majority starts make the rules?

    Groping in the Deep Dark

It has been observed that science is no longer Science. This rather shocking statement seems very radical and inflammatory, but while it may be inflammatory, it isn’t radical. Over the last several decades, science has taken a grand “turn”. In the early years of science, there was an understanding that one had to be a rigorous slave to the systematic requirements of discovery. To “know” anything it had to be measured and tested, and then retested. Conclusions could only be [...]

    In Anticipation of Civil Unrest

For almost twenty years there has been controversy over certain eyewitness reports of abandoned World War II bases here in the US being retrofitted and restored by the federal government. Such bases were confirmed to exist, although, since the government was not acknowledging them, their ultimate purpose was elusive. A skeptical perspective (maybe paranoid) feared that this was for containment of a resistant population reacting to a federal authority which had chosen disregard the Constitution and dissolve personal freedoms. Private [...]

    Understanding the Emergent Church

Many Christians have heard of the Emergent (or Emerging) Church but have no idea what it is.  In understanding the Emergent Church, it’s necessary to understand a cultural trend in Epistemology.  Epistemology is a fifty-cent word meaning “the study of truth or how we learn truth.” Through the history of man, we can discern three major trends in Epistemology: Premodernism, Modernism and Postmodernism.  Each is tied to a time frame and is extremely general.  There are many exceptions within each group.  The [...]

U.N. Seeks Control of the Internet

From the beginning the Internet has posed a serious problem to the forces of control in the world. Whether it be governments, multinational corporations, or paranoiac (however well-meaning) religious groups, the idea of a free and open internet has caused stress and frustration. What is equally true is that the very negative aspect of freedom the internet represents is its greatest strength and our greatest protection. The present environment assures negative and positive content without restrictions. You can’t have assurances [...]

    2012 Issachar Tour Report

Our Issachar Tour extension left Eilat bright and early Wednesday morning heading to an IDF Base on the Israeli / Sinai Egyptian border.  Our purpose was to just drop off some thermals to Yossi’s (our bus driver) daughter.  As I saw Uval, an 18-year-old teenager, come toward the bus dressed in her combat gear, I was taken back; little did I realize what this day would hold. We left the base and headed to the Mizpe Ramon crater and, while [...]
